01 Challenge
CareSource sought to rejuvenate its Dayton, OH, headquarters to create a dynamic work environment, enhance employee engagement, and accommodate large team gatherings and celebrations. The goal was to evolve the headquarters to better support new ways of working and foster a sense of community within the workplace.
02 Solution
To address these needs, BHDP’s design focused on transforming the second floor into a vibrant amenity hub. This floor, already home to the Heartbeat Café, The Greenhouse (servery), and a fitness center, was enhanced with the addition of the Social Hub and a large conference room, along with a reimagined café space.

The Social Hub, seamlessly connected to the Heartbeat Café, offers a range of new amenities such as video and table games, fostering camaraderie and team building. The Heartbeat Café was upgraded with a high-end espresso bar, build-your-own smoothies, and healthy grab-and-go snacks, enhancing wellness and convenience. The multifunctional nature of the Social Hub, available for team events, monthly gatherings, or company-wide celebrations, underscores its adaptability to various organizational needs.
The redesigned environment has boosted employee morale and engagement, with teams actively reserving the new spaces for monthly in-person meetings that integrate local and remote team members. The project has delivered strategic value by fostering increased collaboration and a renewed sense of community within the workplace. Looking ahead, CareSource plans to continue enhancing its headquarters to support ongoing innovation and community building.
