CVG Airport Branch

01 Challenge

BHDP embarked on a transformative journey to reimagine the Fifth Third Bank branch at CVG Airport's Terminal B. Departing from traditional banking norms, the challenge was to evolve the branch beyond mere transactions, aiming to create an engaging space that seamlessly blends relaxation and collaboration while aligning to Fifth Third's brand identity.

02 Solution

Collaborating closely with Fifth Third's design team, BHDP introduced an immersive experience for the branch. The space showcases interactive features and a vibrant color palette aligned with the bank's refreshed brand, fostering a playful and inviting atmosphere. We designed distinctive areas like a kid's corner, tech bar, and hydration station, blending international currency textures with airport-specific elements to tell a captivating story.

Immersive Design

The experiential graphic design creates an immersive experience that captivates visitors immediately. The split-flap display echoes airport nostalgia, greeting guests with the timeless ticking sound as they ascend from the escalators or queue for coffee. As visitors move toward the branch, the interactive LED entry portal comes to life, following the movement of passersby and seamlessly transitioning its interactive animations onto the interior LED ceiling. The kid's corner features operable airplane windows that reveal new digital drawings with each swipe, creating memorable moments for families.

Banking Evolution

BHDP and Fifth Third’s design innovations didn't stop at the branch itself. Our project extended to revamp ATMs throughout the airport, not only enhancing Fifth Third's brand presence but also setting the stage for potential expansion into other airports, signaling a strategic shift in redefining the banking experience on a broader scale and moving away from traditional norms.
