Cedarville University Celebrates the Opening of the Scharnberg Business and Communication Center
Cedarville University recently celebrated the grand opening of the Scharnberg Business and Communication Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by students, faculty, alumni, and local dignitaries. The $40 million, 65,000-square-foot facility is a major addition to the university's campus, designed to provide students with cutting-edge learning spaces and enhance the quality of education in business, communication, and cybersecurity.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the culmination of several years of planning, design, and construction, and featured remarks from Cedarville University President Dr. Thomas White, who expressed gratitude to donors and project partners for their support in bringing this vision to life.
BHDP Architecture’s Managing Principal and Higher Education Market Leader, Paul Orban, was also present at the event. “We are incredibly proud to see the Scharnberg Center come to life,” Orban said. “Our goal was to create a space that not only meets the current educational needs of Cedarville’s students but also anticipates future trends in learning and collaboration. We believe this facility will significantly enhance the student experience, fostering a community where innovation and interdisciplinary learning thrive.”
Attendees were given the opportunity to tour the new facility, which includes advanced classrooms, labs, and collaborative spaces designed to foster an environment of innovation and interdisciplinary learning. The Scharnberg Center, named in honor of lead donors Lorne C. and Ann Scharnberg, will house the Robert W. Plaster School of Business, the Department of Communication, and the Center for the Advancement of Cybersecurity.
With the completion of the Scharnberg Business and Communication Center, Cedarville University continues its mission to provide students with exceptional educational opportunities. This new facility is set to become a cornerstone of the university's academic offerings, supporting Cedarville's goal of preparing students to excel in their chosen careers and make a positive impact in their communities.
