01 Challenge
Lycoming College needed a new home for the Office of Admissions, Office of Alumni and Advancement, the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences, and the Outdoor Leadership and Education program. The college also desired a grand entrance that is befitting an institution with such a distinguished history and exciting future.
02 Solution
The Krapf Gateway Center transforms the admissions experience for the college and provides a supportive and active environment for current students. The building features a rock-climbing wall, meeting and collaboration spaces, general classrooms and seminar rooms, a flexible multi-purpose lecture hall, a café, and an outdoor gathering area with a fire pit.

Designed to be distinctive and respect the campus context, the three-story building serves as a beacon on campus, welcoming visitors into a dynamic and inspiring interior. It activates the south portion of campus, engaging the community and positioning Lycoming College among the best 21st-century liberal arts colleges.
