Battelle Hall Science Center
01 Challenge
Experiencing expansive growth to their natural science, mathematics, and education programs, Ohio Dominican University (ODU) realized their current campus lacked the modern laboratory facilities needed to support their growth. After this realization, they asked BHDP to design a new laboratory and classroom building that aligned with the University’s goal of campus sustainability.
02 Solution
Working closely with ODU, BHDP designed the innovative Battelle Hall. Mixing traditional materials with a contemporary design, the LEED Gold, energy-efficient building features flexible laboratories and open, inviting student spaces. The central atrium is a welcoming, daylight-filled space where the nationally recognized research laboratories and science programs are on display to those who walk through the building.
