01 Challenge
Peco Real Estate Partners (PREP) turned to BHDP to renovate a highly visible, partially constructed mixed-use project that had laid fallow for several years after the previous developer declared bankruptcy. As their first large-scale, luxury mixed-use project, it was critically important for PREP to successfully convert this formerly abandoned site into an iconic development while shortening the timetable for it to become fully leased and meet financial goals.
02 Solution
Selected for its well-regarded workplace and retail designs, BHDP assembled an integrated team to transform this property from an eyesore to a new crown jewel at the Kenwood Town Center. The building's unique design features a soaring sculptural roof mirroring the motion of the adjacent highway traffic, an enlarged retail presence, and an asymmetrical east façade with unique vertical patterns and curtain wall windows.

The Kenwood Collection was completed in March 2016 and was renewed to the high-end office and retail space that it is today. As a result, PECO reported that it not only leased the building twelve months faster than earlier expectations but also improved the size of the lease contracts.
