North Carolina Heart & Vascular Clinic Expansion
01 Challenge
BHDP was tasked with expanding the North Carolina Heart & Vascular (NCHV) clinic in Holly Springs to improve the separation of cardiac and vascular spaces. The clinic had previously shared spaces for both specialties, limiting the use of specialized equipment and reducing efficiency.
02 Solution
The design solution introduced a new pod in the clinic, doubling its size and creating dedicated and organized spaces that better support the clinic's dual specialties. A central nurses’ station serves as the hub of the space and supports the new Ultrasound, Echo, and Procedure rooms.

The expansion significantly enhanced the clinic's functionality and patient experience. By creating a more organized and efficient layout, the new design supports the specialized needs of both cardiac and vascular services. The interactive tablets in exam rooms help improve patient understanding, while the provider workroom and phone booths offer privacy and improve productivity. The result is a more streamlined clinic, improving both patient care and daily operations for the healthcare team.
The exam rooms are equipped with interactive tablets, allowing medical professionals to easily show or demonstrate information to patients in real time.
The workroom includes phone booths on each end for audible privacy, ensuring confidential conversations can take place without disruption.
New Ultrasound, Echo, and Procedure rooms are all thoughtfully designed to meet the specific needs of these services.
