of highly flexible, multipurpose collaboration space
Be A Maker (BeAM) Makerspace
01 Challenge
Traditional education environments lack the means to teach students the art and science of transforming ideas into three-dimensional reality. The vision of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Murray Hall Makerspace is focused on taking that challenge and bringing this space into the future of education.
02 Solution
Our Higher Education design team created the Makerspace to be a highly flexible, multipurpose space, housing a diverse range of tools. It facilitates hands-on instruction, giving students a structured environment that will help them learn the iterative process of making and provides the space and technology to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. The space also includes flexible research laboratories, offices, and spaces for meeting and collaboration.
