The master plan was developed to allow a phased approach to transforming the existing building, and included re-envisioned space plan and associated interior renovations focused on an improved user experience, exterior envelope improvements and mechanical upgrades to the original 1930’s library as well as the 1950’s and 1980’s additions.

Phased renovations to the 1930’s and 1950’s portions of Doane Library are currently being implemented from the master plan. Renovations are intended to create a cohesive and timeless design throughout the library and its additions and include upgrades to the original lobby, President’s Room, Reading Room, and new study lounges and collaboration areas.
