To prepare, BHDP design teams spent time in downtown Lebanon to capture the historic context of the surrounding buildings and to understand pedestrian traffic patterns. As a result, BHDP’s exterior design of LCNB’s new headquarters building payed homage to these historical details with marble accents and embossed spandrel panels; but they also integrated 21st century design details such as larger windows to permit more natural interior light and employed modern methods and materials to improve the thermal and waterproofing envelope of the building. The three-story building was carefully positioned to give back to the community a welcoming, park-like setting that includes cascading terraces, benches, plantings and lighting between the front of the building and the street; while allowing for employee parking at the rear of the site.
