BHDP Leads Transformation of Blue Ash Towne Square

Rendering of Blue Ash Towne Square transformation

Work is underway to transform Blue Ash’s Towne Square into a multi-use, vibrant center aimed at bringing more people to the heart of the city.

The redesign of Towne Square was guided by a collaborative effort between BHDP Architecture and landscape architecture firm Human Nature. The firms have a history of working together on significant projects like Over-the-Rhine’s Washington Park. Tom Arends, Design Leader at BHDP, emphasized the goal of transforming the space from a “series of rooms” into one fully integrated area.

“The new design invites people from all directions and walks of life, becoming part of their daily routine,” Arends said.

Steve Barber, Senior Architect at BHDP, noted that Blue Ash’s criteria for the square centered on creating an intimate, sustainable, and vibrant hub. The new design includes a sloped civic lawn for better views of the pavilion, a dog park, interactive play areas for children, and parking that can double as a plaza for food trucks. Additionally, the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial has been reimagined as a linear walkway, offering a more intimate and interactive experience for visitors.
