Construction To Begin on Cedarville University’s $35M Bolthouse Academic Center

BHDP is proud to be part of the team working on Cedarville University's newest facility, the Bolthouse Academic Center. With construction set to begin in May 2025, this $35 million project will provide state-of-the-art spaces for education, research, and student collaboration.
The 48,000-SF, three-story academic center will house several key academic departments, including the School of Education and Social Work, Psychology, History, Government, and English, Literature, and Modern Languages. The building will also feature innovative research labs, classrooms, and collaborative spaces designed to foster interaction between students and faculty.
A standout element of the Bolthouse Academic Center will be its 84-foot-tall domed rotunda, a symbol of the university’s commitment to inspiring academic excellence and community. Additional amenities will include a coffee shop and Grab-n-Go dining station, offering students a welcoming environment to study, socialize, and connect.
The building is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2027-28 academic year.
According to Paul Orban, BHDP’s Managing Principal and Higher Education Market Leader, “Cedarville University continues to create a dynamic and transformative environment for its students, faculty, and alumni, and we are honored to contribute to that vision through our design work. The Bolthouse Academic Center is an exciting addition to their campus, and we are confident it will provide a vibrant, inspiring space that supports both academic excellence and cross-disciplinary collaboration.”
BHDP also partnered with Cedarville University to design the Scharnberg Business and Communication Center and the Callan Athletic and Academic Expansion.
