Manchester University Celebrates Completion of Fort Wayne Location Expansion

The ribbon is cut for Manchester University's Fort Wayne location expansion

Manchester University Fort Wayne recently celebrated the completion of its $20 million expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 29 at 10627 Diebold Road, Fort Wayne.

This expansion has added over 32,000 SF of advanced facilities, significantly enhancing the university’s health sciences hub and reinforcing its commitment to the northeast Indiana community. The new additions include an interprofessional clinic that offers students and faculty hands-on experience serving a high-need population in the region. The expanded spaces also feature state-of-the-art physical therapy teaching labs, research and classroom areas, a nursing simulation and skills laboratory, and various versatile collaboration areas for students.

The design of the expansion was driven by the goal of creating a dynamic learning environment that meets the evolving needs of the healthcare field. "We are thrilled to have collaborated with Manchester University on this transformative project," said Alejandro Medina, Senior Architect at BHDP. "This facility is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and inclusivity in health science education."

During the ceremony, the university dedicated a new walk-in clinic in honor of President Emeritus David McFadden. This clinic provides essential resources and services to the community, particularly for those who may not have access to traditional appointments.

The expansion project, which began with a groundbreaking on June 16, 2023, marks a significant milestone in Manchester University’s ongoing mission to advance health sciences education.
